Strategies Applied in New Master Plan  

  •  Land uses have been made flexible.
  •  Zoning regulations have been recast.
  •  Instead of rigid land use pattern, mixed uses have been permitted  under zoning regulations.
  • Major office complexes, Large & medium scale industries,
  • Central Business District, specialized markets, Transport yards,
  • Educational institutions, Sewage treatment plants, Electric sub-  stations, major recreational centers and places of cultural heritage   which need to be preserved, have been specifically identified.
  • Alternate methods for clearance of slums and depletion of   population in highly dense zones of the city have been devised.
  •  Need for developing rural/semi-urban areas simultaneously to  check migration.
  •  Private sector participation.
  •  De-congestion of traffic.
  •  De-congestion of city/dispersal of infrastructure/development of  satellite towns.
  •  Growth and monitoring cell.
  •  Coordination with other agencies —— constitution of a Steering   Committee
